Beginner Knitting Class

Introduce the different types/sizes of needles
Introduce the knit and purl stitch
Learn to bind off to end your project
We will start a practice piece to learn all the above stitches.
This should give every student the basics to work on and practice so they will eventually be able to start a basis project.

Visual Art for Kids II

Painting: Focus on basic painting skills in different mediums.
In this class, we will be using watercolor, acrylics and mixed media. Lessons include still life, landscape, fantastic illustration and beginning portrait.

Mondays from March 1^st to March 29^th, 1:30-3:15pm
$75 per student, includes all supplies.

Visual Art for Younger Kids

Discover the process of drawing and painting of studio art and having fun while producing quality work.
Classes will include fundamental drawing and painting principles, methods of using different art tools, learning about composition, proportion, spaces and shape design. Each session, a different type of technique will be demonstrated and students receive one-on-one instruction. The emphasis is on creativity, techniques and building confidence.

Wednesdays from March 3^rd to March 31^st, 10:00-11:30pm
$60 per student, includes all supplies.

Advanced Art and Computer Graphics

Art classes by Visual Manna -- The Young Lions Program -- Taught by Sharon Jeffus
Class size is limited to 8 students. Ages 12 and up

Wednesdays starting January 27^th, 2010 offered weekly until the first week of May, at 12:00 - 2:00 pm.

The first 9 classes are $125.00. Payment can be split if necessary.

Our goals for the first semester of work are as follows:

1. Large finished poster in charcoal and pastel.
2. T-Shirt design that goes with poster.
3. Business Card, Poster, Logo and Brochure (Computer graphics for marketing a product)
   This includes training in Inkscape and several other drawing programs.
4. Watercolor painting
5. Canvas Painting
6. Photography for Competition

We will also have guest artists with some classes.

The second semester classes are also $125.00. All supplies are included.

1. One ad
2. One finished black and white drawing showing composition and design. One pen and ink drawing.
3. One set design, one costume design, one story board
4. One mural design

Students have an art show at the end of each semester; either online or at a specific location. Students also receive a certificate giving credit for one hour of art for each semester of work.
